$2M Lottery Win Will Help Anne Arundel County Woman Buy House
A $2 million lottery prize was won by an Anne Arundel County woman. She plans to buy a house with her winnings.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A southern Anne Arundel County woman won $2 million on a scratch-off bought in Prince George's County, the Maryland Lottery announced last week.
The anonymous victor plans to use some of the prize for a down payment on a house. She will save the rest.
"I was shaken and crying," she said in a June 3 press release announcing the news.

The woman was on a break at work while she scratched off her $30 Mega Money ticket, which has 40 chances to win.
Each time she scratched, the finance worker revealed another $50,000 prize in the win column. She started to assume she hit the jackpot, so she waited until after work to finish scratching to avoid attracting attention.

"It was a lot of $50,000 prizes and I just knew that I won $2,000,000," the winner said.
The frequent lottery player usually gets $5 instant tickets. She won $100 on a different scratch-off before purchasing her jackpot-winner, so she opted for the more expensive ticket this time.
The Upper Marlboro Dash In at 15501 Marlboro Pike will get a $2,000 bonus from the lottery for selling the winner.
This was the first of five jackpots available for Mega Money, which debuted April 22. There are still eight second-tier $50,000 prizes left and others ranging from $30 to $5,000.
