3 Seriously Injured in Glen Burnie Car Crash: Police

Authorities say a passenger in one of the cars suffered life-threatening injuries.

A car crash in Glen Burnie Tuesday morning left three people with serious injuries, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Officers responded to the site of the two-car crash on Solley Road north of Nabbs Creek Road around 9:26 a.m. Investigators believe the crash was caused by speeding and icy road conditions.

Police say a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT driven by Burnett Edward Fleetwood IV, 20, of Glen Burnie was traveling southbound on Solley Road over the 40 mile per hour speed limit. Fleetwood reportedly drove over ice and lost control of the car, crossing the double yellow center line and hitting a 2008 Chrysler van that was traveling north on Solley Road. The van was driven by Sharon Lynn Locklear, 56, of Glen Burnie.

A passenger in Fleetwood’s car, Joshua Lee La’Rose, 18, of Glen Burnie, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma, according to police. Both drivers also suffered serious injuries and were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
