7-Year-Old Boy Fatally Struck After Falling Out Of Car On I-97: Police
A 7-year-old boy was fatally struck after he fell out of a car on I-97, police said. Officers are looking for the driver in the hit-and-run.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — A 7-year-old boy fell out of a car and was fatally struck Sunday evening on Interstate 97 in Millersville, state police said.
Troopers said the driver who hit the child didn't stay on the scene.
The victim's name has not been released publicly.

Authorities said the hit-and-run crash happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. on northbound I-97, north of Maryland Route 32 in Anne Arundel County.
Police said the backseat passenger opened the window and fell out of a 2011 Mazda 3, landing in the travel lanes.

Troopers said an oncoming 2016 to 2019 Honda Civic sedan then struck the child.
Authorities said they are looking for the Honda, which may have damage to the front left wheel well.
Medics pronounced the boy dead on the scene, police said.
Troopers think the Mazda driver is the child's grandmother. Authorities said she wasn't hurt.
The Maryland State Police is still investigating.
