ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available through the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. Alex arrived at the shelter after his owner passed away. He was very upset at first and misses being in a home. Alex needs someone kind, patient and understanding to see past his tough guy exterior and get to know the real him. Spend a little time with Alex and you'll see that he is actually quite playful and extremely loving. Alex is used to a calm, quiet home and would be happiest as an only pet or with his own room where he can feel safe.

Nimiko has been at the shelter for quite some time. She is a large and independent lady, but she appreciates human company and attention, too. Nimiko likes to play with toys, jump into boxes and she especially likes a good meal. For such a big cat, she has a tiny and adorable little meow. Nimiko is a staff favorite and they would love to see her go to the amazing forever home she deserves. Nimiko would be happiest as your only pet, but she has plenty of love to share.

Dennis is an exuberant boy with plenty of energy. He likes to have his own way, so shelter staff are working with him on his leash manners. Dennis is very treat motivated and will sit on a dime for a snack. He has the cutest little snort that will make you laugh. This loving boy needs a human in his life who can work with him on his manners, which will further strengthen your bond.

As a reminder, due to the coronavirus, at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, the shelter's visitation policies have been adjusted but "staff and volunteers are still at the shelter to socialize the animals, feed them, medicate them and give them the level of care and love that the SPCA is known for," said shelter director Kelly Brown.
