Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week From Anne Arundel SPCA

These cute pets are searching for forever homes. Will it be with you? They are currently up for adoption at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD —It's time to meet Patch's adorable adoptables of the week. These pets, and more, are up for adoption at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County.

Max is a pekingese with the cutest underbite. He is a senior and cannot see, so he needs lots of love. He sure is sweet though and will love you *furever*.

Missy is Max's shih-tzu partner. They must go to the same home. She cannot hear, so she and Max rely on each other when they go on walks. Max and Missy need some extra TLC and deserve a break from the shelter.

Fred Mertz was recently diagnosed with mouth cancer. The vets aren't sure how much time he has left, but he would be much more comfortable in a home. He is not in any pain, and he is still very social. He just needs some daily medicine and care.

Ethel Metz is Fred's best friend. They must go to the same home. It would make her so happy! And when Ethel is happy, she lets out adorable coos and chirps. Who wouldn't want to hear that? Ethel is a little more shy, so she will need some time to adjust before anything happens to Fred. They are both about 5-years-old.

The SPCA of Anne Arundel County adjusted its visitation policy because of coronavirus, but "staff and volunteers are still at the shelter to socialize the animals, feed them, medicate them and give them the level of care and love that the SPCA is known for," shelter director Kelly Brown said.

Services that require appointments include:

  • Adoptions
  • Animal viewing
  • Animal surrender
  • Spay and neuter clinic appointments
  • Foster animal appointments
  • All other business/services

The SPCA is still accepting donations of new and unopened pet supplies. Donors don't need an appointment to drop off supplies.
