Mexican Restaurant Closes Anne Arundel County Location, Eyes Delaware Expansion

A Mexican restaurant closed its only Anne Arundel County location after two years. The eatery plans to expand in its home state of Delaware.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Mexican restaurant closed after a stint in West Annapolis, but it's planning expansion in a neighboring state.

Agave Mexican Restaurant & Tequila Bar shuttered Monday at 106 Annapolis Street.

"Annapolis, thank you for an amazing two years," Agave said Sunday on Instagram."We are taking expansion plans to our home state in Delaware. If you enjoyed us being here as much as we did, please take a trip and come see us at the Delaware beaches! Our Rehoboth Beach, Lewes Beach, and future Delaware locations can't wait to welcome you!"

Agave debuted in Lewes in 2008. It started with 30 seats and expanded to over 300 seats when the Annapolis location was open.

Agave offers over 100 different tequilas. The locally sourced eatery also stocks its ingredients from Delaware food and fish markets.
