Anne Arundel County Residents Hit The Parks for a Great Cause
Residents of Anne Arundel County get active while showing their support for a local non-profit helping residents in need.
This Saturday The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks will be hosting their second race of the Move More Race Series, the By the Bay 5k and Family Fun Walk at Downs Park in Pasadena. All of the proceeds from the Move More Race Series supports Recreation Deeds for Special Needs Family Support Funds. Rec Deeds a local non-profit which assists ensure that all Anne Arundel County Residents in accessing Recreation and Leisure due to a special need and/or financial barriers. Some of the previous years proceeds from the Move More Race Series have gone towards scholarship in helping families in need pay for summer camp, adaptive sports, school year programs and adaptive support/equipment for recreation programs.The goal is to help families overcome challenges due to disabilities or other and environmental barriers so everyone is able to participate to their fullest extent.
