$600K Raised For Sick Kids In Charitable Golf Tournament By Anne Arundel County Family

An Anne Arundel County family has raised more than $600,000 for sick children with its charitable golf tournament.

MYERSVILLE, MD — An Anne Arundel County family has raised more than $600,000 for sick kids with its annual golf tournament over the past 11 years. This year's effort raised more than $80,000 to help 1,200 families.

The Crivella family, who lives in the Millersville-Severna Park area, donates the money to the Casey Cares Foundation. Founded in Maryland in 2000, Casey Cares organizes uplifting events for critically ill children and their families in eight states and Washington, D.C. The nonprofit frequently sends these families to sporting events, concerts and vacation getaways.

The Crivellas started the tournament in honor of Nick Crivella's aunt, who died of cancer. The tournament began as a friends-and-family match before Crivella's wedding. It has since grown into a large-scale charitable operation.
