County Combating Rabies Cases With Extended Clinic Hours
Extended hours will be offered for a clinic giving rabies vaccines for $5 per pet on Oct. 24.

After a spike in rabies cases in Anne Arundel County, the county is hosting an extended rabies clinic on Oct. 24.
On that day, the Anne Arundel County Animal  Clinic's hours will be expanded by five hours, running from noon to 8 p.m.
"This opportunity is being offered in an effort to make rabies vaccination of pets more accessible to the public, as it is a requirement of the law," according to a press release issued Wednesday.
Since September, there have been three reported rabies sightings at county parks. One was found at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis on Sept. 12, another was found at Downs Park in Pasadena on Sept. 20, and a third was found at Fort Smallwood Park on Oct. 4.
The clinic is available for any Maryland residents and costs $5 per pet for the vaccine, and $20 per pet for microchips.
