Fatal Crash Claims 20-Year-Old Driver: Anne Arundel County Police
A fatal crash claimed a driver in Anne Arundel County, police said. He was 20 years old.

CROFTON, MD — A fatal Crofton crash recently claimed a 20-year-old driver's life after he ran a red light, police said.
Officers identified the victim as Jack Michael Brown of Crofton.
Authorities said Brown's adult front-seat passenger was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police said the crash happened last Wednesday around 12:31 a.m. at Crain Highway, also known as Maryland Route 3, and Johns Hopkins Road.
A 2017 Freightliner 114SD commercial vehicle heading north on Crain Highway approached a steady green signal at Johns Hopkins Road, officers said.

Authorities said Brown, driving a 2020 Honda Insight sedan, was going west on Johns Hopkins Road and ran the steady red signal at the Crain Highway intersection.
The Freightliner driver couldn't avoid striking the Honda in the driver's side as it crossed the intersection, police said.
Authorities said the Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced Brown dead at the scene.
Medics took the Honda passenger to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.
Officers said the Freightliner driver wasn't hurt.
Authorities are still investigating.
