Doodle Day Nets Terrific Pics, Donations For SPCA Of Anne Arundel

Doodle Day at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County yielded adorable pics of people's pets and much appreciated donations to the shelter.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Pet owners had the perfect opportunity to capture the essence of their four-legged loved ones on paper at Doodle Day, a Facebook event hosted by the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. The event not only served as a fundraiser for the shelter, but resulted in adorable drawings being created of the supporters' pets.

Because it was a virtual event, the shelter live-streamed the Facebook event so people could see their doodles being created by volunteers.

"It is so fun to see others put their artistic take on your own pet," Nick Crawford told Patch.

A surprising number of people participated in the special event, submitting photos of their pets to be drawn and making donations. Almost 200 images were created and almost $3,000 was raised. But the needs of a shelter are always continuous, and the SPCA of Anne Arundel County can always use donations of pet food, treats, toys and towels, which can be found on their wish list.
