Fatal Crash In Anne Arundel Claims Prince George's Man: Police

A fatal crash in Lothian killed a man from Clinton, police said. Three others were also hospitalized in the single-car wreck.

LOTHIAN, MD — A Prince George's County man died this week after a crash in southern Anne Arundel County, authorities said.

Police identified the late victim as 23-year-old Mateo Green of Clinton.

Officers said three others were also hospitalized with serious injuries.

Authorities said the Lothian wreck happened Saturday around 1:36 a.m.

The single-car crash happened on Sands Road near Patuxent Mobile Estates, police said.

Officers said a 2012 Infiniti G37 was heading north on Sands Road at a high rate of speed.

Authorities said the driver lost control, crossed over the southbound lane and hit a utility pole on the opposite side of the road.

Police said the car continued northbound on the wrong side of the road and then hit a tree.

Medics took the adult driver and the adult front-seat passenger to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, officers said.

Medics drove a 16-year-old female backseat passenger to MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, authorities said.

Officers said the Maryland State Police Trooper 2 medevac helicopter flew the other backseat passenger, later identified as Green, to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Green died on Sunday, authorities said.
