Footprint Leads Police to Suspect in Multiple Burglaries

The imprint of a shoe at a crime scene led to a suspect involved in several commercial burglaries, according to Anne Arundel County police. 

Timothy Kwaun Couser, 27, of Baltimore, was charged with burglary after police said he was found near a recent crime scene.

Early Wednesday morning, a burglary alarm sounded at a State Farm Insurance office in Linthicum. When police arrived, they noted a broken window and a visible shoe print, which was collected by evidence technicians.

Two hours later, police found Couser nearby. When approached, Couser gave police conflicting information about why he was in the area at 2 a.m.

"Officers observed the similarity of the subject's shoes to the imprint found at the burglary scene. Further examination confirmed this and the suspect responsible for the burglary and he was placed under arrest," according to a press release from police.

When police searched Couser, they reported finding a tablet computer and 8 grams of marijuana. Using the tablet, police discovered it had come from another nearby business that had been burglarized, a Re-Bath on Raynor Avenue in Linthicum Heights.

Police said the man may also have been responsible for an attempted burglary of another local business called Fastenal.
