Gardiners Furniture Hosts Angel Tree Program in Anne Arundel County
The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program is designed to help kids in need have a happy holiday.
Gardiners Furniture in Pasadena is hosting an Angel Tree in Anne Arundel County that is designed to help match kids in need with benefactors and ensure they have a happy holiday.
To participate, benefactors can select an Angel tag from any participating Angel Tree. The tag contains some information about a child in need, including his or her name, age, gender and clothing sizes. The benefactor can then purchase gifts for this Angel and return with them and the name tag to the Angel Tree location.
"We've got about four responses so far," said Dan Grossnickele, assistant store manager at Gardiners. "It looks like we'll have a good season with it."

Grossnickele said the Angel Tree program is popular and even Gardiners employees get in on the gift-giving spirit. He added that Gardiners has been running the program for more than five years.
"I know I've already taken two of the tags off there myself and bought some stuff," Grossnickele said. "The other people who work here will usually pick up some things, too."
