Fundraiser For Mom Who Lost Son In Fatal Pasadena Fire Collects Thousands
A Pasadena mother lost her son in a fatal fire. Anne Arundel County rallied around her and raised thousands of dollars in support.

PASADENA, MD — A fundraiser has collected thousands of dollars for a Pasadena mother whose son died in a house fire last week.
The GoFundMe has raised more than $39,000 for Rosemarie Billing-Briggs, who "lost everything except the clothes on her back."
"I am asking for any donation for Roe to at least help her get some personal items," fundraiser organizer Debbie Rohrback said on the GoFundMe page. "Let me tell you this woman has a heart ❤️ and is constantly helping others now it is time for us to help her through this horrific time. She is an amazing lady please let’s help her."

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department identified the late son as 54-year-old John Salvatore Billing, who used a wheelchair. The mother and son lived together in the 7900 block of Central Road, officials said.
Firefighters said the blaze broke out on May 3 around 1 p.m.

Crews said they found the son dead inside.

Community members know the mother for her volunteer work at Chesapeake High School, Ft. Smallwood Optimist and Community United Methodist Church.
"Rosemarie was a sorority sister and dear friend," donor Sharon Reed said on the GoFundMe. "She has helped many people in this world and now needs our support. We're so sorry for her loss."
The fundraiser had 468 donations when this story was published. The largest contribution of $2,000 came from an anonymous donor.
Organizers hope to raise at least $75,000.
