Man Leads Police on Chase During DUI Arrest
Police said Steven Plummer struck a guardrail, then continued driving in a police pursuit.

Police arrested a man charged with driving under the influence after he crashed into a guardrail, then fled.
Anne Arundel County police arrested Steven Plummer, 29, of Old Crown Drive in Pasadena, charging him with numerous traffic and criminal violations. According to online court records, Plummer was previously charged with DWI on Sept. 28.Â
Plummer passed a police officer on Interstate 97 at a high rate of speed without his lights on Wednesday at about 10:22 p.m., according to a report. He then struck a guardrail and spun out of control. When the officer approached Plummer's vehicle, the suspect sped away.
Plummer sped East on Route 100, where multiple officers pursued him on suspicion that he was driving under they influence.Â
Eventually, Plummer pulled the vehicle over and fled into nearby woods, where he was apprehended by officers.Â
When they arrested him, officers said they noted a strong odor of alcohol on him. And inside his vehicle, police found drug paraphernalia, according to a report.
