Newly Inaugurated AACC Pres to Focus on Innovation at College

AACC's sixth president Dawn Lindsay was inaugurated Friday.

In her inauguration speech Friday, Anne Arundel Community College president Dawn Lindsay emphasized her focus on innovation and leadership at the college.

Lindsay said she wants to create a synergy founded on transparency, honesty and trust.

“I say this philosophy will be our compass, because when faced with a decision, I encourage all of us to determine our direction by asking the following questions: Will this benefit our students? Will this benefit our community?

"The answers to the above questions will guide us. And if the answer is yes, our path will remain steady,” she said.

Lindsay is the sixth president of the community college, following Martha Smith, who served as president of the college for 18 years—the longest term of any former president at the college.

She began her term as president in August 2012, but her formal inauguration ceremony was Friday at the Arnold campus.
