Four other people were seriously hurt, including a small child. Emergency officials said a pickup truck collided with a car. I-97 was closed northbound.

One man was killed and four other people were hurt when a pickup truck collided with a car on Interstate 97 on Friday morning.
The crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. near the overpass to Route 100. Division Chief Keith Swindle of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said the one person killed was a man approximately 35 years of age who was occupying the car.
One passenger in the car, a woman approximately 33 years old, was airlifted to Shock Trauma with serious and life-threatening injuries, Swindle said. A child, believed to be about 3 years old, was rushed to Johns Hopkins Children's Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Two passengers in the pickup truck also sustained minor injuries and were taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
I-97 northbound was expected to be closed for an extended time as State Police investigators worked to reconstruct the crash.
