Pasadena Gets New Pet Store; Company Sponsors Adoptions

Pet Supplies Plus opened a new Pasadena location, the chain's 500th. To celebrate, the store is sponsoring 500 pet adoptions.

PASADENA, MD — Pet Supplies Plus opened a store in Pasadena, which is the chain's 500th location. To celebrate, the chain is sponsoring 500 pet adoptions and donating 16,000 bags of pet food and 17,000 toys to families in need around the country. The donation is part of the company's four-month-long charity push and is worth more than $380,000.

Dogs are always welcome to join their humans on shopping trips to Pet Supplies Plus, the store says. The pet-friendly atmosphere carries over to the adoption events, fundraisers and pet food drives that the store promises to host throughout the year.

Workers are trained to answer questions about dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and fish. The store also sells natural pet foods and goods. On-top of supplies, the store also offers grooming services and a pet-washing station.
