Police Charge 3 in Mail Thefts

Anne Arundel County police have charged three people suspected of stealing outgoing mail from homes in Crownsville and Annapolis. 

Police said the arrests came on Oct. 31 after a broad investigation that also included United States Postal Service Inspectors. 

The suspects were pulled over while driving a Jeep Patriot with a Virginia license plate. Officers seized some items from the car linking them to the alleged crimes, which included mail theft and the use of forged checks, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing. 

The three people charged are Jynell Lekita Williams, 29, of Washington, DC; Derrick Carlson Clay, 28, of Largo; and Darnell Atkinson, 24, of Capital Heights.
