Report: Most County Firefighters Live Outside Anne Arundel
Most career firefighters are saving money by living outside the county.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department employs 740 career firefighters, but a clear majority of these brave men and women live outside the county, according to a report in The Maryland Gazette.
Almost half of the firefighters live in Maryland but outside the county, while more than 120 live outside the state, reports the Gazette.
Many of the commuting firefighters are drawn out of the county for areas with a lower cost of living, according to the report.
