Scholarships for Scholars Awards $196,000 to 34 Anne Arundel County High School Seniors

Annapolis, MD -Scholarships for Scholars proudly announced that on April 30, 2025, the organization awarded $196,000 in scholarships to 34 outstanding high school seniors from Anne Arundel County during its Annual Awards Ceremony held at St. John’s College in Annapolis. This event marked the 41st year of honoring academic excellence in the county. Since its founding in 1984, Scholarships for Scholars has awarded more than $3 million to over 1,000 graduating students, making a lasting impact on education and achievement across the community.

The 34 honored students represent 14 public and private high schools across Anne Arundel County and were selected for their exceptional academic achievements in a wide range of disciplines including Career Training and Applied Technology, Computer Science, Creative Writing, Engineering, English Literary and Rhetorical Analysis, Health and PE, History, Mathematics, Performing Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Visual Arts, and World Classical Languages.

The ceremony included remarks from Board Chair Laura Nelson, comments from Honorary Recipient Sabrina Richter from Severna Park High School, and a keynote address by Nora Demleitner, President of St. John’s College.

Fourteen of the 34 scholarships were made possible through the generosity of local organizations and families who have partnered with Scholarships for Scholars to support Anne Arundel County’s outstanding scholars. This year’s sponsors include:

  • Bo’s Effort – Making a Difference in Mental Health
  • Crosby Marketing Communications
  • RBC Baum Jackson Group
  • The Shane A. Morris II Family

Board Chair Laura Nelson shared with the recipients: “As you take the next step in your academic and personal journey, remember: this scholarship is not just a recognition of where you’ve been, but a launchpad for where you’re headed. The future is full of opportunity, and we are confident that you will continue to shine in all your endeavors.”
