Snakes Delay Utility Workers at Senior Center
The senior center was shut down for about two hours Monday while a crew disposed of the snakes.

Two snakes ended up shutting down the Arnold Senior Center during a routine water meter check Monday.
When a utility crew arrived Monday morning to check the water meter at the Arnold center, they discovered "two large black snakes," in an area beneath the center, according to Matt Diehl, spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works.
As a result, the center was closed and the water was turned off for about two hours on Monday afternoon while a solution was devised.
The center's director Suzie Antkowiak said a crew from the county's Department of Public Works arrived shortly after to remove the snakes. Diehl said the snakes were in an area separated from the main building.
No one was injured as a result, she said. Afterward, the water was turned back on and the center was reopened without further incident.
