13-Year-Old Bicyclist Hit By Car While Crossing Road: Anne Arundel County Police

A 13-year-old bicyclist was hit by a car while crossing a road, Anne Arundel County police said. He suffered life-threatening injuries.

SEVERNA PARK, MD — A 13-year-old bicyclist was hit by a car Sunday while crossing a road in Severna Park, police said.

Officers said the boy suffered life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. at Jumpers Hole Road and Sylvan Avenue.

A 2013 Honda Accord was heading north on Jumpers Hole Road near Sylvan Avenue when the bicyclist crossed eastbound in front of the sedan and was struck, police said.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department took the bicyclist to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, officers said.

Authorities said the Honda driver wasn't hurt.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
