Two Anne Arundel Vets Named Deputy State's Attorneys

Anne Arundel County's new state's attorney announced two longtime prosecutors as her deputies Tuesday.

Kathleen E. Rogers and William D. Roessler will be sworn in Tuesday afternoon, according to a release from State's Attorney Anne Colt Leitess' office.

Rogers, a Davidsonville resident, has been with the office since 1987. Rogers served as the trial team leader for the office's Sexual Offense and Child Abuse Prosecution Team. She has prosecuted two death penalty cases and 20 homicides, according to the release.

Roessler, a 40-year state's attorney's office veteran, has served as a deputy state's attorney since 1988. His duties have included trying manslaughter and motor vehicle fatality cases, along with presenting to grand juries and supervising the professional staff in the state's attorney's office.

Leitess was selected earlier this month to succeed Frank Weathersbee.
