Weather Wreaks Havoc on Roads Across County

The fire department reported at least a half-dozen accidents during the morning rush hour, including a three-car crash in Crofton.

Rainy weather contributed to a series of collisions Friday on roads in Anne Arundel County, including a serious crash on the Baltimore Washington Parkway and another three-car incident in Crofton.

Division Chief Keith Swindle, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, said units responded to six crashes between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m., snarling traffic in many areas.

The crash on the Baltimore Washington Parkway happened at about 7:30 a.m. and involved an SUV that had rolled over near the Connector Road exit. At 8 a.m., firefighters were still working to extricate one victim from the vehicle.
