Weekend Planner: The First Weekend of December
Here's some exciting and fun activities for the first week of December!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and this week’s weekend event planner is no exception. We’ve got plenty here to ring in the holidays, plus a selection of non-holiday related events for those who aren’t quite ready for the ring-jing-jingling.
What: Quarter Auction at St. Andrew’s
When/Where: 6 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 7859 Tick Neck Road, Pasadena
Why go: There will be a variety of gifts on sale, such as Avon, Tupperware and Tastefully Simple products.

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at
Why go: Get your holiday shopping started (or continue it from Black Friday) and support the Glen Burnie High School music department.
Cost: Free
What: The Story of Buddha in Dance
When/Where: 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday at Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts at Anne Arundel Community College
Why go: Students from the Kalairani Natya Salai dance school will perform the story of Buddha, following his life from childhood to enlightenment.
Cost: General admission is $10, AACC students pay $5

What:
When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday at Arundel Mills mall food court
Why go: Kids 4-12 years old can create their own work of gingerbread art. Crafting experts will be on hand to offer tips and pointers, and a prize will be awarded for the "Most Creative Gingerbread Art." Creations will be displayed through Dec. 24 and can be picked up on Dec. 26, if desired. RSVPs are encouraged. Email rtoomey@simon.com or call 410-540-5114.

When/Where: 1 p.m. Sunday at , 1367 Odenton Road
Why go: The Odenton Heritage Society will open its museum doors, and is inviting the public to bring artifacts and stories about the old Nevamar facility, which closed in 2004. There will be special displays relating to Nevamar.
