Wind Warning Issued For Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Expect Delays
Expect delays Friday, June 21, on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which is currently under a wind restriction and no two-way traffic is allowed.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two-way traffic currently is prohibited on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge because of wind warnings issued by the Maryland Transportation Administration Friday, June 21. One lane of eastbound traffic will be directed westbound, so drivers should expect traffic delays today, particularly during rush hour. No house or empty box trailers will be allowed to cross the bridge, state transportation officials stated.
Wind warnings mean there are sustained wind speeds of 30 to 39 miles per hour for periods of 10 minutes or more. Drivers of the following vehicles should use extra caution: motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds. Drivers should abide by slower speeds and keep both hands on the steering wheel during these high wind warnings.
Officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and will resume two-way traffic when its safe. Motorists can call 1-877-BAYSPAN (229-7726) for current traffic conditions.
