During the period Oct. 2-9, AVFD received 72 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:
Oct. 5: At 7 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reportedat Linden Avenue and Shelbourne Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one person with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

Oct. 5: At 11:33 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported at South Hilton Street and Leeds Avenue in Baltimore City. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one person with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.
Oct. 5: At 11:56 a.m., an unknown illness or injury was reportedon the 5500 block of Link Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Westview career station responded. One critically ill person was taken to a local hospital.

Oct. 8: At 11:39 a.m., a hazardous materials incident was reported at Walmart at 3601 Washington Boulevard in Lansdowne. Crews from the Arbutus, English Consul, Lansdowne, Liberty Road, Owings Mills and Pikesville volunteer stations and Brooklandville, Catonsville, Eastview, Essex, Golden Ring, Halethorpe, Middle River, and Westview career stations responded. A total of 19 people were transported to area hospitals with varying degrees of injuries from a hazardous materials exposure.
Oct. 8: At 10:01 p.m., a person experiencing chest pain was reported on the 200 block of Bloomsbury Avenue in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded. One seriously ill person was taken to a local hospital.
