During the period Oct. 9-16, AVFD received 57 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Oct. 9: At 2:12 p.m., a brush fire was reported at Carville Avenue at Sulphur Spring Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and extinguished a small mulch fire.

Oct. 9: At 4:58 p.m., aΒ high angle rescue was reported onΒ Buzzard Rocks Trail atΒ South Hilltop Road at Frederick Road in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville, Texas, Westview and Woodlawn career station responded. One seriously injured person was rescued from a cliff and transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Oct. 11: Ar 12:48 a.m., an auto fire was reported at Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, 5200 Southwestern Boulevard in Arbutus. Crews from AVFD responded and extinguished a small electrical fire.

Oct. 11:Β At 3:26 p.m., aΒ motor vehicle accident with injury was reported onΒ I-695 at Frederick Road in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Westview career stations responded to find property damage only.

Oct. 14: At 8:14 p.m., anΒ injured subject was reported at UMBC in Arbutus.Β Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
