DePaola Signed by Tampa Bay Bucs

The son of Arbutus restaurateur Andy DePaola, the Hereford High School graduate played football for Rutgers University.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently gained a few fans in the Arbutus area when they added long snapper Andrew DePaola, son of Arbutus restaurateur Andy DePaola, to their roster.

"We're really happy," said the elder DePaola, owner of  on Sulphur Spring Road.

A graduate of Hereford High School, the 25-year-old DePaola played for Rutgers and had tried out for the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints.

DePaola had previously played for the new Bucs head coach Greg Schiano, who was head coach at Rutgers before returning to the NFL this year.

Andy DePaola said that another son, Vince, plays football at Towson University as a sophomore. A third son also attends Rutgers.
