Wawa to Hold Grand Opening in Halethorpe
The newest Maryland store will feature self-service lottery terminals.

When the new Wawa on Washington Boulevard near Sulphur Spring opens Friday, it will not just be a milestone for the store but for all Wawas in Maryland.
The grand opening of the Halethorpe location is the beginning of a partnership with the Maryland Lottery.
Under this partnership, the Halethorpe Wawa will include self-service lottery vending machines selling Multi-Match, Mega Millions, Powerball, Monopoly Millionairesβ Club, Bonus Match 5, Pick 4, Pick 3, Keno, 5 Card Cash and Racetrax.

The new Wawa store will also employ nearly 60 associates, according to a statement from Wawa.
A charitable hoagie building competition will be part of the grand opening festivities; representatives from USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore will face off to see who can build the most hoagies in three minutes. Wawa will conclude the βHoagies for Heroesβ competition by presenting a check for $2,000 to the USO.

The Halethorpe store is the first to feature the self-service lotto machines, and all future Maryland Wawa stores will include them. By yearβs end, Wawa will have 47 self-serve Lottery terminals in all of Wawaβs Maryland stores, according to the company.

The grand opening will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, at 3716 Washington Boulevard in Halethorpe. Maryland Lottery and Wawa officials will be in attendance.
