Sex Tape Linked To Ex-Staffer Angers MD Sen. Cardin: Reports
The Maryland Democrat said he was "disappointed" after portions of the tape were published by a conservative news outlet Friday.

WASHINGTON, DC — Sen. Ben Cardin said police are investigating after a former aide for the Maryland Democrat was linked to a sex tape filmed in a U.S. Capitol hearing room, according to multiple reports.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Cardin said he was "angry" and "disappointed" by the incident, CBS News reported.
"It's a breach of trust," he said, according to the network. "It's a tragic situation, and it's presented a lot of anger and frustration. I'm concerned about our staff and the way that they feel about this."

Over the weekend, Cardin's office confirmed to Politico the aide was no longer employed by the Senate after portions of the tape were published by conservative news outlet the Daily Caller on Friday. According to reports, the video showed two men having sex in a Hart Senate Office Building hearing room.
The American Spectator previously reported that a Cardin staffer was involved.

While neither report named the staffer, other outlets identified him as Aidan Maese-Czeropski, a legislative aide to Cardin.
In a statement sent to Politico, Cardin's office said called it a "personnel matter," adding, "Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate."
In a statement on his now-deleted LinkedIn account, Maese-Czeropski said, "This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda," CBS News reported.
Maese-Czeropski continued, "While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgment, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace," he said. "Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters."
As of Monday evening, Capitol Police told The Hill it is “still investigating” the sex tape.
