Oyster Recovery Partnership Hosts First 'World Is Your Oyster' Fest
The Oct. 8 event will feature food, entertainment and an oyster-shucking competition, all to benefit the Chesapeake Bay's restoration.

Oyster Recovery Partnership (ORP), an Annapolis-based non profit expert in Chesapeake Bay oyster restoration, is pleased to announce World is Your Oyster Fest on October 8, 2022 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM. Seafood lovers can purchase a ticket for the event, which will provide access to plentiful and delicious local eats and drinks as well as entertainment, such as an expert-led Shuck Like a Pro tutorial and ORP's First Annual Oyster Shucking Competition - a qualifying event for the US National Oyster Shucking Competition Contest- all in support of ORP’s mission of restoring the Chesapeake Bay’s oyster population.

Complete with a Vendor Village, local businesses who support ORP and its mission of restoring the Chesapeake Bay will be offering a variety of Chesapeake-themed items for sale. Home goods, gifts and jewelry from Smyth Jewelers, custom oyster prints from Kim Hovell, oyster art from @SVN_SMR, as well as complimentary quick one-minute oyster portraits onsite for guests from Goodloe Byron and much more are to be expected.
Tickets are on sale now for $165 per person and can be purchased via the festival's website.

WHAT: This festival is an opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of oysters from throughout the Bay - and delicious small bite seafood dishes from restaurants that recycle oyster shells with ORP. Noted as Baltimore’s largest raw bar event, over 20,000 oysters are expected to be consumed during the fundraiser. Guests will receive their own shucking kit and learn how to Shuck Like A Pro with #1 Oyster Chef, Rifko Meier of OystersXO as well as experience vast beer, wine and cocktail pairings courtesy of ORP's top supporting partners. Education is at the forefront of this event, highlighting the importance of shell recycling.
