$1 Million Scratch-Off Ticket Sold In Bel Air

A Harford County resident won $1 million after buying a scratch-off ticket at a gas station on MacPhail Road, lottery officials said.

BEL AIR, MD — A lottery player won $1 million after purchasing a ticket at a gas station in Bel Air, according to the Maryland Lottery.

In early June, an "avid lottery player from Harford County" bought several scratch-off tickets and other lottery games from the Exxon on West MacPhail Road, lotto officials said.

When the player got home, he scratched off the numbers, then checked the prize box on the Money Explosion ticket to find he had won $1 million, according to officials.

"I just could not believe it," the Harford County man, who spent $20 on the ticket, told the Maryland Lottery.

For selling a top-prize ticket, the Exxon at 600 MacPhail Road will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
