$50K Winning Lotto Ticket Claimed In Joppa By Player Who Plans To Buy A Fishing Pole
A New Hampshire man in Maryland for work has won $50K with a scratch-off ticket. He told officials he plans to buy a fishing pole.
JOPPA, MD — After being out of town with his work crew in Maryland for several weeks, a New Hampshire man who prefers casinos decided to buy a scratch-off ticket in Joppa.
He and his co-workers popped into the Sheetz convenience store at 601 Pulaski Highway in Joppa and one of his co-workers said something to the effect of, “Could you imagine if one of us won the lottery?”
So the New Hampshire man took $15 in cash and purchased hot dogs for lunch and two $5 Let's Make a Deal tickets. He ended up winning $50,000 on his ticket.

He claimed the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters recently before he and his co-workers had to return to New Hampshire. He told lottery officials he plans to not spend any of it except to buy a new fishing rod.
The Sheetz store where the winning ticket and hot dogs were purchased receives a bonus of $500, equal to 1% of the prize.

The Let’s Make a Deal game went on sale on April 21 with seven top tier $50,000 prizes and after the New Hampshire player’s win, four remain unclaimed. Thousands of additional prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000 are also still out there with this game.
