Abingdon Gas Station Sells $50K Lotto Ticket
The man who bought a winning ticket along Route 924 plans to continue playing the lottery, saying: "Play more and win more."

ABINGDON, MD — An Abingdon gas station sold a $50,000 scratch-off ticket recently, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The prize came from the Deluxe Crossword game, which challenges players to scratch off letters and spell words.
Officials identified the winner as a 42-year-old man from Mechanicsburg, Pa., who likes to play the lottery "for the fun of it."

His plans for the prize money include depositing some in savings and playing the lottery. His past prizes have included $4,000 and $5,000 scores, according to lottery officials.
"Play more and win more," he reportedly said.

The Exxon in the 3400 block of Emmorton Road received a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling a top-tier ticket, officials reported.
Authorities said the Pennsylvania man claimed his $50,000 prize Thursday, Jan. 20. He is not the only player whose winning ticket was sold in Abingdon lately.
A 39-year-old Baltimore woman won $50,000 playing Powerball after Christmas at Wine World on Constant Friendship Boulevard, the Maryland Lottery reported.
