Ashley Furniture Closes In Tollgate Marketplace

BEL AIR, MD — The Ashley Furniture store in Tollgate Marketplace has closed. Staff at neighboring stores said it closed last weekend, and trucks hauled away the remaining inventory this week.

Another store remains open nearby, according to Ashley Furniture, in the Campus Hills shopping center at 2400 Churchville Road.

Ashley Furniture's closure at Tollgate Marketplace was planned as part of the expansion of the shopping center, which will welcome Dick's Sporting Goods in the future.

The leasing brochure for Tollgate Marketplace shows Dick's moving in next to Staples.

Officials representing the shopping center told the Bel Air Planning Commission in May that they intend to add 15,800 square feet adjacent to the old liquor store at the shopping center as part of the project, which will also include repaving and striping the parking lot.
