BEL AIR, MD — When a Harford County sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a stolen vehicle last week, the traffic stop quickly turned into a foot chase that took a crazy twist with the help of some golfers.

After a brief vehicle pursuit by the sheriff's deputy, the stolen vehicle stopped along the Bel Air bypass after being disabled by stop sticks set out by other deputies. The driver and the passenger hopped out of the stolen vehicle and ran off on foot toward Annie's Playground. Then they veered toward a golf course, according to the sheriff's office.

Harford County sheriff's deputies Canham and Cole quickly found themselves chasing the suspects on foot across fields and then the golf course. But a couple of golfers watching the foot chase ensue hollered at the deputies and gave them their golf cart to use in the foot chase.
