Families in Need Enjoy Day on the Water in Abingdon

Captains Sharing and Caring brought families of sick children to the Bush River Yacht Club for a day on the water.

Six families with sick or special needs children and more than 30 people enjoyed a day out on the water on Sunday at the Bush River Yacht Club (BYRC).

The entire day was thanks to the nonprofit Captains Sharing and Caring, which was started by Cheryl and Robert Krajcsik of Pennsylvania. The Krajcsik's started the charity after their 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter died of heart disease.

Cheryl Krajcsik said the BRYC "outdid themselves" on Sunday. She said the kids and families enjoyed an hour-long cruise and a picnic style lunch.

Captains Sharing and Caring also provided “goodie” bags for all the children, and gift cards for all the parents at the event on Sunday.

"We know raising a special needs child is not easy and can be very costly, so we are hoping this small token from us for gas/groceries, etc. will help," Krajcsik.
