Hanukkah Dinner, Library Craft And Storytime Help Celebrate The Holiday

Learn more about Hanukkah with storytime and a craft at the Aberdeen Library, and register for a special Hanukkah dinner.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — This year marks only the fifth time since 1900 that Hanukkah started on Christmas Day. Hanukkah runs from Dec. 25, 2024, through Jan. 2, 2025, and will be celebrated in Harford County at different events.

Hanukkah is Judaism’s festival of lights. On eight consecutive nightfalls, Jewish family and friends gather to light one additional candle in the menorah.

On Jan. 1 at 5:30 p.m., the Harford Chabad will host a family Hanukkah dinner. There will be crafts, activities, latkes, donuts and more. The dinner will be held at the Schusterman Home, 445 Choice St., Bel Air. To register, visit www.HarfordChabad.org/Chanukah. The Harford Chabad also will host services Jan. 4 at 10 a.m.

There will be a Hanukkah craft session Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Aberdeen Library in the meeting room. Attendees will learn about Hanukkah through stories and the craft.
