Harford County Raises Funds for Ray Lewis Foundation

Harford County Government employees brought some added meaning to Purple Friday last week.

County workers held a bake sale and raised $700 for the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation, which aims "to provide personal and economic assistance to disadvantaged youth," according to a news release from County Executive David Craig's office.

The bake sale was organized by Kimberly Spence, who is a Harford County resident and Chief of the Office of Budget and Management Research.

"Our county employees are known for their spirit and love for the Ravens as well," Craig said in the release. "The bake sale was our small way of saying thank you to the Ravens for an outstanding year and pay[ing] tribute to future Hall of Fame member Ray Lewis."

All baked goods were made with a Ravens theme.

Diana Nalls' chocolate-covered strawberries and Jennifer Boesch's Ravens cupcakes were recognized as winning entries.

The event coincided with the Ravens Rally held in downtown Bel Air.

Director of Administration Mary Chance said: "Harford County is fortunate to have tremendous employees and they always look forward to show[ing] their outstanding support for the Ravens and the Orioles."
