BEL AIR, MD — The mask requirement in Harford County government buildings will be lifted Tuesday, according to County Executive Barry Glassman.
As the omicron variant caused a spike in coronavirus infections, Glassman implemented a mask order for visitors to Harford County government buildings and county government employees who interact with the public.

“The recent surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations is subsiding in Harford County consistent with the drop in statewide metrics," Glassman said in a statement Monday.
Harford County had a coronavirus positivity rate of 32.61 percent on Jan. 7, and it had fallen to 13.18 percent as of Sunday, Jan. 30, according to the Maryland Department of Health.
“While masks will no longer be required in county government buildings, I continue to encourage citizens and county employees to manage their personal risk, get tested if they have symptoms, and get the vaccine and booster as the best way to avoid serious illness," Glassman said.
