High School Placed On Lockdown Due To Threat Later Proved Not Credible
Bel Air High School was placed on lockdown Friday due to a threat made with the police department that was later proved not credible.
BEL AIR, MD — A threat targeting Bel Air High School made Friday was found to not be credible, officials said.
According to Harford County Public Schools officials, a person called the Bel Air Police Department claiming to be inside the high school and planned to hurt others. The school was placed on lockdown and the school safety liaison, along with law enforcement, completed a full sweep of the building and restrooms, the school district shared.
Once it was determined that there wasn't a credible threat, the lockdown was lifted.

"No individual was found in the building and law enforcement will pursue the origin of the phone call that initiated this lockdown," the Harford County Sheriff's Office stated.
At pick-up time Friday afternoon, parents were informed they would be admitted into the building one at a time to sign out their child.
