Ice Cream Truck Scare Causes Stir in Fallston
Suspicious men offered young children ice cream at Reckord Road Park last week, and police are looking into the incident.
Local parents are on the lookout after two men in a white box truck offered children free ice cream May 24.
The incident was reported to police May 26.
An Abingdon man told police he and his family went to his son's baseball game at Reckord Road Park at 800 Mountain Road in Fallston on May 24, according to a report made to the .

While he and his wife watched their son play, their daughter joined other children on the playground, which is in sight of the field.
As the girl played with other children, a white box-style utility vehicle drove into the parking lot and stopped near the playground, according to the police report.

Inside the truck were two men. The girl said the passenger in the truck rolled down his window and shouted to the playing children, "come here, I have free ice cream," the report states.
The girl said one of her friends started to walk to the truck, but she and her friends stopped the second girl. No other children approached the truck, the girl said.
When no one went to the truck, the truck passenger rolled up the window and the men drove away, according to the report.
The girl told police there were ice cream stickers on the truck, but it had no speaker to play music and she couldn't tell if there was a cut out on the side of the truck like a normal ice cream truck, the report states.
The girl's father first learned of the incident May 26 and immediately contacted police. According to the police report, the concerned father contacted the president of Belcamp baseball to let him know about the incident and pass the message to other parents.
The passenger in the truck is described as a white man with a brown mustache and a deep voice wearing a blue baseball hat with a white design on it.
, public information officer with the sheriff's office said the children involved did the right thing by not approaching the unknown men.
She said the sheriff's office reminds parents to teach their children not to approach strangers and to let parents know right away about suspicious incidents.
