Lane Closures Expected Along U.S. 40 Near Bridge

Drivers should plan for intermittent lane closures in both directions now through November on U.S. 40 near the bridge for a project.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Drivers should be aware that both eastbound and westbound U.S. 40 near the bridge will see single-lane closures now through November.

Crews will be cleaning and painting the bridge, which is part of the State Highway Administration’s $2.8 million contract for cleaning and painting bridges on state highways within Baltimore and Harford counties.

Lane closures will be weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and in the overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.

Drivers also should note that the speed limit will be reduced through the bridge work zone to 45 mph. The roadway shoulders will be closed for the duration of the project.
