Semi Collides With Motorcyclist, Killing 1: Police

Investigators have determined that a motorcyclist was killed when he turned in front of a tractor-trailer, police say.

PERRYMAN, MD — A motorcycle driver who police say turned in front of a tractor-trailer Memorial Day has died.

The crash happened shortly before 8 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Route 40 and Old Philadelphia Road, also known as Route 7 and Route 159. Dionne McKelvin Jr., 26, of Aberdeen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Maryland State Police stated that McKelvin was headed east on Route 7 and was turning right onto Route 40 at the same time that a semi was driving along Route 159 and turning onto Route 40, as well. The vehicles collided and McKelvin was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Maryland State Police stated that investigators determined that McKelvin did not yield to the semi-trailer. No one else was injured in the crash.
