NY Giants Cornerback Returns To Edgewood, Recognized For Accomplishments
NY Giants cornerback Deonte Banks returned to Edgewood earlier this month where he was honored with his jersey number and name on the field.

EDGEWOOD, MD — New York Giants football player Deonte Banks returned to his roots earlier this month to be recognized for his accomplishments.
Banks graduated with the class of 2019 from Edgewood High School. He earned a full scholarship to the University of Maryland where he played cornerback for the Terps. He then was chosen 24th overall by the Giants in the 2023 draft.
"Deonte is a true example of dedication, perseverance and excellence," Harford County Public Schools shared on Facebook.

At the high school football game, Banks was honored with his jersey number and last name emblazoned at the 3-yard line. His Giants jersey hangs in the athletic hallway of the school to serve as "an inspiration to young athletes who desire to follow in his footsteps."
"Deonte has inspired us all with his hard work, resilience and commitment to greatness. He represents not only the best of our community but also the endless possibilities that come with passion and determination. Thank you, Deonte, for showing our young athletes what it means to accomplish your dreams," the school district stated.
