Porch Pirate Charged After Harford County Thefts

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Authorities say they have identified the "porch pirate" suspected of pinching packages from people's homes in Harford County. A Baltimore County man has been charged with multiple counts of theft.
John Brock, 37, of the 1200 block of North Point Road in Dundalk, faces four counts of theft from $100 up to $1,500, according to court records.
The charges stemmed from thefts that occurred in the Belcamp area on Thursday, Dec. 16. Deputies said they were called to Baylis Court, Hampton Hill Court and Harrier Way for reports of package thefts between noon and 2 p.m.

"With your help, the Porch Pirate that struck the Belcamp community was identified, located, and apprehended" that night at his home in Dundalk, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported Friday. "It was your tips, shares, and flood of information that aided detectives in the quick apprehension of the suspect, John Brock, age 37."
Brock was released on his own recognizance Thursday after appearing before a Harford County District Court Commissioner.
