Quick-Thinking Bank Worker Thwarts Harford Robbery Attempt
A robber didn't get far in his efforts to rob the Sovereign Bank on Emmorton Road.

A quick-thinking bank worker thwarted a robbery attempt at a Harford County bank Saturday morning, officials say.
Harford County sheriff's deputies responded to the 1800 block of Emmorton Road for an attempted robbery at the Sovereign Bank.
Responding deputies reported that at about 9 a.m. a man who was hiding in the bushes near the bank attempted to rob it when the manager began to open the doors for the business day, according to a statement from the sheriff's office. The suspect rushed toward the manager, displaying a black handgun, police said.

The manager was able to secure the inner door of the bank and the suspect ran away on foot in an unknown direction without getting any money, according to police.
The suspect was described as a white man wearing blue jeans, a plaid shirt, dark hat, a dust mask and sunglasses.

The bank manager was not injured, according to the statement.
